Day 2: Baga Gazar Granite rock Mt
This morning we will travel to the south through classic Mongolian countryside –lush green, creek-fed mountain valleys sprinkled with herds of grazing animals. Our destination for today is Baga Gazar, one of the largest and most beautiful Granite rock Mt in Mongolia. It was created by a volcanic and nature carves his own nature beauty.

Day 3: To South Gobi Desert
Early in the morning, we drive to south after breakfast at the Ger camp. Late afternoon we will visit and hike into the Yol Valley, a fascinating site that hardly seems to belong to the Gobi at all. A combination of factors traps ice near a high, narrow cliff that remains even in the middle of summer! Scan the skies for the large vulture known as a Lammergeyer, for which the valley is named. These cliffs also host the rare Altai Snowcock, as well as bighorn Argali sheep, ibex, wolf, and fox. Even tracks of the endangered snow leopard have occasionally been reported here. Return to the camp for an evening’s rest.

Day 4 & 5: Khongor Sand Dunes
We will have prepared packed lunch and will continue our drive further down into the Gobi to see the tallest sand dune in Mongolia. Those two days are for relaxing and exploring this magnificent area. It’s hard to miss the main attraction – the Khongor sand dune that towers more than 200m off the desert floor and stretches well over 100km in length. Locals have named this the ‘singing dune’ because of the roaring sound created when the desert winds shift masses odd sand down the slopes. You can make the sound yourself on a hot sunny day by walking down the dune and moving the sand with your feet (remember you have to climb up first!). You can also hire a two-humped Bactrian camel from our host family that will be happy to take you around in a classic Gobi experience. When you hire a camel they might need to go and collect the camels that are free roaming. This gives you a perfect chance to step inside their home (they will insist you come inside anyway) and get a sense of their very unique way of life. You’ll likely be plied with some milk tea and their fresh dairy products – camel milk is surprisingly rich and delicious!
Overnight in the Ger next to Local family and second night at the Ger camp. (B. L. D)
Day 6: Ongi Monastery via Flaming cliff
This morning we will visit world famous dinosaur fossil site known as the Flaming Cliffs, or Bayanzag in Mongolian. It was here that Roy Chapman Andrews – who some say was the model for film’s Indiana Jones – discovered not only an amazing intact collection of dinosaur bones, but also the very first fossilized dinosaur eggs. Named for the red color that intensifies with the rays of the rising or setting sun, walking through the Flaming Cliffs will evoke wonder about the creatures that lived here more than 60-70 million years ago. After visiting at flaming cliff, we will continue our journey to Ongi Monastery. The Ongi Monastery was built in 1660. During the communist regime, we destroyed more than 700 monasteries and one of them was this monastery and it was destroyed in 1939.
Overnight in the Ger camp. (B. L. D)
Day 7: Kharkhorin
A long drive after breakfast will take us to Kharkhorin, Mongolia’s ancient 13th century capital city. Established by Chingghis Khan as the hub from which he and subsequent khans ruled the largest land empire the world has ever known, it became a flourishing center for wealth, science, education and trade. Nowadays there is very little remaining from the original town but Kharkhorin is still the home of one of Mongolia’s oldest and most important Buddhist monasteries, Erdene Zuu. We’ll take a couple of pleasant hours to explore the exquisite architecture and artistic treasures of the monastery.
Overnight in the local guest house. (B. L. D)
Day 8: Tsenkher Hot Spring
Today we will drive west and reach a renowned local hot spring spa, perfect for a relaxing soak and reputed to have health benefits. Before we reach the spa, we will stop for a short walk through larch pine forest to learn something about Mongolia’s animal and plant life.
Overnight in the Ger camp. (B. L. D)
Day 9: Khorgo / Tsagaan Nuur
Our destination for today is Tsagaan Nuur, one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in Mongolia. It was created by a volcanic eruption and the dormant volcano still watches over the lake. After lunch, we will be devoted to climbing the volcanic mountain and its bizarrely shaped basalt formations.
Overnights in the Ger camp. (B. L. D)
Day 10: Jargal Hot Spring
Today we head north and after traveling lakeside, we will start to climb up to the picturesque mountain pass called Oroohiin davaa. There are lovely hikes on the other side of the mountain. Around late afternoon we will reach Jargal Chiguur Ger camp. Where you can enjoy in hot spa.

The sister lake to Baikal in Siberia, Khuvsgul is 135km long, 35km wide and 262m deep. It’s extremely fresh waters are ringed by thick pine woods and towering rocky mountains. Lake Khuvsgul is always a top memory for Mongolian travelers and there is much to do, from kayaking, swimming, horse riding, or trekking in the nearby mountains, to paying a visit to one of the area’s unique groups of reindeer herders.
